THE CHALLENGE
In 2023, a Midwest-area Community Hospital System’s HAI rate increased. Knowing the risk of spreading pathogens via the healthcare facility floor throughout the day, the hospital system challenged the EVS Director to improve the effectiveness of floor cleaning.
OUR SOLUTION: Advantex® Mopping Solution™
After reviewing the Geerpres® research data, which showed that not all microfiber mops perform equally, they decided to switch to the Advantex® Single-use Microfiber Mop with synthetic construction. The Hospital System moved from a competitor’s premier mop to the Advantex® Single-use Microfiber Mops, Advantex® Mop Frame, and Telescoping Aluminum Handle System. The data and customer feedback presented in this case study were collected in 2024 and compared with data from 2022-2023.

Geerpres Advantex® microfiber is finer than industry microfiber requirements, therefore having superior efficacy. Advantex® microfiber has a denier of 0.53, about half of one (1.0) denier. Converting to the Advantex® Healthcare Floor Solution, this hospital system is more confident/comfortable knowing they have reduced floor pathogens, and they believe this is a factor in the lower HAI rate. This hospital system reported that the average healthcare-related HAI cost was over $30,000 per incident. Reducing HAIs has had a significant positive financial impact on the hospital system. In addition, the better floor coverage reduced mop and chemistry usage while improving cleaning efficiency. Cleaning teams love these mops!
